ECODIS SA (the Commercialization and Distribution Company) was founded in 1997 by Amado TRAORE, although its operations effectively began in March 1998.
Mr. TRAORE then launched his own lubricant brand, “EXEL”, which also became the name of his network of service stations starting in the year 2000.
After reaching a significant size in the hydrocarbon sector (with 32 stations and a 24-billion CFA turnover), he once again chose to expand his ventures in 2014. This led to the creation of YILMA SA in 2015, a company specialized in the production and distribution of food-grade beverages.
ECODIS SA’s business model is built on a threefold activity: the commercialization of petroleum products (fuels such as gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and lubricants like oils and greases), which is its core business; the trading of petroleum products to optimize margins through international market transactions; and the sale of cold water meters (volumetric meters) to diversify its revenue streams.
Relying on a robust logistics network (tanker trucks, service stations), ECODIS SA supplies individual customers (via service stations), businesses (construction, transport, agriculture), industries, and resellers, while also offering related services such as installation, maintenance, and technical advice. Revenue comes from product sales, trading operations, equipment sales, and partnerships (franchises, manufacturers).
